HTML4KIDS Security and Privacy Policies

Security

How it works:

For Schools

  1. the login process
At registration we will collect the data from the registration form and then validate that information by locating the school via the country's public records. Then we will contact the Head/Principal confirming with them their application requirements. Once satisfied that the request is genuine, HTML4KIDS will send a master username and password to the contact email address/postal address. From the master login, teacher and student accounts for that school and that school only can be created.
  2. accounts
Accounts are arranged that both teachers and students can create and save web pages. BUT only when you are logged in as the account can you see the pages created by the user. This means that no one can see the pages a user creates unless they are logged in as that user.
  3. encryption
The site uses encrypted timed single session cookies. Each session is unique and encrypted against duplication. Usernames and passwords are randomly generated case sensitive strings of alphanumerics. This makes it very hard to directly crack a user account.
  4. other security measures
Once in the site, HTML4KIDS had made it next to impossible to leave it. Each page contains code that redirects the user back to the login or disallows access to the location and tool bars preventing students from "accidentally" straying onto sites with inappropriate content.
  5. content
Web pages are not posted live to the site. Therefore any individual using the site to create illicit content, that content cannot be seen or accessed by any other user.
  6. abuse
Schools are required to police the content of their own submissions. Any abuse of the HTML4KIDS site or software will be immediately reported to that school/institution. Further abuse will result in banning that school/institution from further entry/use of the site.

For Individuals

  1. the login process
At registration we will collect the data from the registration form and then HTML4KIDS will send a username and password to the contact email address. From that login entry will be permitted into the site.
  2. accounts
Accounts are arranged that each user can create and save web pages. BUT only when you are logged in as that account can you see the pages created by that account.
Each page contains code that redirects the user back to the login or disallows access to the location and tool bars preventing users from "accidentally" straying onto sites with inappropriate content.
  5. content
Web pages are not posted live to the site. Therefore any individual using the site to create illicit content, that content cannot be seen or accessed by any other user.
  6. abuse
HTML4KIDS retains the rights (see Terms and Conditions) to review any and all content within their database and delete where they deem appropriate. Any abuse of the HTML4KIDS site or software will be immediately reported to that user and the offending material removed. Further abuse will result in banning that user from further entry/use of the site.
